The ultimate frisbee team at Allegheny College is an amazing organization comprised of a womens, mens and mixed team. These teams practice together during the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons and participates in tournaments throughout the year. In the Spring season, the womens and mens team participate in USAU sanctioned tournaments leading up to sectionals, where both teams play several games against other teams in the same section as Allegheny College. The team is an great way to build communication skills, meet and bond with peers, be part of a team, and get involved in the wonderful community that is ultimate frisbee.
The Hellbender is the "mascot" for the Allegheny College ultimate frisbee team. A hellbender is a species of aquatic giant salamander that has large populations in French Creek which is the creek, spanning 117 miles, that runs through Meadville, PA (the city Alleghey College is located in). The team mascot may be different than the schools mascot, but the Allegheny College spirit is still evident in the passion and drive of each team member. The team chemistry is shown through communication on the field and close friendships off the field. Each member of the team participates and has an equally important role in the performance of the team. The team is full of so many interesting and amazing people.
